Academy Award-winning VFX Supervisor, Rob Legato talks about one of the most technologically advanced films ever made – The Jungle Book. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won two. His first win was for his VFX work on Titanic and his second was for Hugo. In 1996, he won the BAFTA award for Best Achievement in Special Effects for Apollo 13, for which he also garnered his first Academy Award nomination.

New York City-based film and virtual reality director, Milica Zec, teams up with Brooklyn based director and producer Winslow Turner Porter III, to share their short VR narrative piece called, “Giant,” which premiered at Sundance Film Festival New Frontier 2016. Since its premiere, “Giant” has been lauded as a seminal expression of the potential of virtual reality as a storytelling vehicle.

Drawing on his experience with The Jungle Book, Rob will share the secrets that helped him and his team reinvent the film production pipeline, as well as the addition of the VR element tied to the live-action film.
